You've suggested sharing inspirational books in a number of places, and I want to second that idea. When people read an inspiring book that really touches them, I hope they will remember to pass then on to others. What's especially fun is leaving them in public places, such as a park bench, along with an inspirational quote or note. Hugs, CJ

Some suggestions for Kindness in the Workplace from http://www.helpothers.org/ideas.php?op=theme#workplace

* Take flowers to work and share them with coworkers.
* Write a note to the boss of someone who has helped you, praising the employee.
* Leave enough money in the vending machine for the next person to get a free treat. (Tape the change and a smile card tag to the machine)
* Have a food drive, ask employees to bring nonperishable food items to donate to food bank.
* Get to work before others and leave a piece of candy, brownie, fruit, flower, etc. at every desk attached with a Smile card.
* Leave a cake or other food item in a central area anonymously with a Thank-You note.
* Appreciate a co-worker by giving them a gift of service; For example, instead of a tie for birthday or Christmas, sponsor a cataract surgery in a developing country. Attach a note explaining how their gift affects someone else.s life.
* Gather a group of your colleagues and take them to a fundraiser.
* Email an article about an act of kindness to your group every week. (For examples, see www.helpothers.org)
* Give your manager or co-worker a thought-provoking book.
* Print an inspiring story and put it on your work bulletin board.
* Buy a cup of coffee or snack for someone who.s having a long day.

I have to brag about my staff. Today Meagan and Kayte and I brainstormed about our upcoming fundraiser, Jazzed Up for a Cause. Kayte has worked so hard to get items donated for our auction and Meagan is all excited about working on the invitations. I just love working with enthusiastic, creative people! They are a blessing! xo, cj

I love the picture - it is inspirational to see what can happen when people come together in kindness and generosity.

What a great picture, Diana! I happily got to see the tree when I visited Diana's office yesterday. It has roses on it! Beautiful. Your office mates must have felt great about gathering so many wonderful toys for the children. I must tell you all that after talking for two hours with Diana yesterday, she is now my role model for kindness and generosity. Her heart is wide open and so full of love for others that she is an inspiration.

Our office at Ammons Pittman GMAC Real Estate opened our doors to the community as a central drop off location for Toys-for-Tots. We were overwhelmed by the generosity of the community as they stopped by to drop off toys, ask about real estate needs, and just offer a friendly "Happy Holidays" greeting. I thought I would add a picture to give you a glimpse of how a community can come together to make the holidays brighter for the children of North Carolina. Thank you to all who contributed!

You just spread joy wherever you go, don't you? :-) Can't wait to hear what you do next... Have a beautiful day, CJ

At work we have a courtyard garden with a beautiful red maple tree (which was looking rather bare). I kept looking at the tree and decided that I would go to the local Big Lots and purchase a few large ornaments. So one morning before everyone came to work, I hung these gold and red ornaments from the tree. As I watched co-workers coming in to work I could see the instant smiles! Anyone coming into the building comes around the corner and smiles appear! What a great way to spend the day watching people through my window! SMILES IN ABUNDANCE!
