What an awesome story! I love it when something wonderful and unexpected like that happens. It was quite spectacular here as well. The lightening gave us a real show. Love you!

Thanks for inviting me! How could I not be a part of such a great idea. I hadn't told you this story because it just happened. Glad you like it! I hope I have some time this weekend to look around a little more and read some other people's stories!

I love how angels show up just when you need them most! Thank you for sharing this beautiful story of kindness with us, and for joining the Kindness Cure community. I've been on both the giving and receiving end of similar acts of kindness and remember well how powerful those moments were. I'm sure you've paid this kindness forward many times and I hope you'll share those stories with us as well. Have a wonderful day! CJ Scarlet

Tell us a little about yourself! Where you're from, what you do, what you care about.
I was born and grew up in the small town of Myrtle Point, Oregon. I came to Canada in 1972 and have lived here ever since. I believe that there is a great need for kindness, understanding and empathy in today's world. I feel that the world today is becoming split into the haves and the have-nots and that those of us who have very little are feeling that we cannot be of help. I would like to believe that we can at least contribute by showing kindness to one another when ever possible.

I was in the waiting room of my doctor's office, feeling very alone and scared because everything was going wrong. I couldn't keep back the tears. A very kind woman sitting across from me asked if there was anything that she could do. I thanked her and said no, that I had to get to my daughter's because she was sick and we had no money for gas and I was just feeling frustrated and sad. She was called to go in, but came back a few minutes later and put $20 in my hand and said, I hope this helps you to get to your daughters home. She was an earthly angel!

The Kindness of Neighbors we have never met

My husband and I recently moved to Vernon, BC in the Okanagan. It has been an unusually hot summer and today was no different until around 4 pm when it started to thunder and lightening and then rain. We thought, "Oh, thank goodness", until we looked out our front door and saw water pouring down the front of the house. It kept coming made worse by cars driving by. It poured, it hailed and then poured some more. My husband went out with a shovel to try and dig a path for the water to go but he co… Continue
