Tell us a little about yourself! Where you're from, what you do, what you care about.
I am the founder of The Friendship Stone. I have been trying to do one nice thing for someone every day of my life, for the past 20 years. I don't always succeed, but it is a priority. I also tell me kids on the way to school that they should also try to do one nice thing for someone else at school. In the afternoon, they tell me what they did.

I love giving away my friendship stones, especially to strangers.
I have these moments of connection with people, and when I give them a stone, I see how it transforms them, the complete and utter surprise on their face by receiving this incredible stone from someone they just met. I usually get the best hugs afterwards! I am addicted to hugs.

Appreciation, nothing like it!

A small act of gratitude just made me feel so great! The city council in our area wanted to close down our school and give it to another one school that has no where to go. Well, the group of parents in our school today have all gotten together to fight this decision. I went to the first meeting, then left the country for 12 days and by the time I got back, they had reached a substantial compromise with the city. It turns out there were many parents involved, but a core group of 8 were extremely involved and spent many hours of meetings and discussions with the city. I felt it was important to say thank you, anonymously, to that core group. SO I bought each of them a beautiful Orchid plant, with a small note attached, saying thank you and congratulations on their work.
When I brought it to the one woman who would know that I was the giver, with the explicit instructions not to tell anyone else, she cried and hugged me. It was so out of the blue and something she NEVER expected, I just loved it! It is so great to not only say thanks, but to put those words into an action. I recommend it to everyone to try it some time. And of course, the anonymous part just makes it that much better!

Thanks for your kind comment Cathy. How wonderful that we can so easily connect with people from around the globe. We are all connected spiritually, and now we can easily experience that connection electronically too.

Thank you for your kind comments, Cathy. You are a wonderful role model for your son. You must be very proud of him. As for the photo, I'm a bit heavier now, due to several recent courses of steroids, but I'm just as happy as I look! Would love to see some of your pictures. Do you have a website you can share that features some of them? Thanks again, CJ

Cathy, You were reading my mind. I was just on your site and decided to send my friend one of your beautiful stones. Thank you.

BTW..around my neck I wear a necklace with 3 small charms. On each charm is the word PEACE represented in English, Hebrew & Arabic. It has taken on even deeper meaning now.
