I head to Kenya for a month on Sept 8. My grandmother always said that we do our best work when our love cups are full. I am overwhelmed by my responsibilities in creating social change that will make a difference in the lives of rural African women…

Hello Kathleen:
Welcome to the Kindness Cure Community! Thank you for sharing your photos and your life's work with all of us. Your journey will allow many of us to learn from your work and to be mindful of how we each can make a difference in the world. Have a blessed evening!

Wow, Kathleen. What an incredible mission and vision! The photos say more than words ever could. I greatly admire you for your work with this very deserving population. I'm so glad you joined our campaign and have been so active. The story you shared touched my heart. It is so easy for us, who live in this incredibly bountiful country, to forget that people are suffering in others places. Thank heaven for people like you who dedicate their lives to aid others. You are appreciated! Have a fantastic weekend. CJ Scarlet

I am the founder and Executive Director of The BOMA Fund. I work with rural African women in one of the most remotte regions of Africa - northern Kenya - to help them start businesses and build a life for themselves and their children.
How did you hear about the Kindness Cure?

Tell us about an act of kindness that transformed your life? (you could have seen, or done, or had done to you)
Drought 2006 - northern Kenya - worst drought in 50 years. In search of nomadic communities to provide support - the famine was devastating. My Muslim Op Dir said to me, in the midst of my tears "Mama Rungu, now you see the world through God's eyes". I'm not religious (how can there be a God that allows children to starve) but it was a profound moment that greatly informed our work.
