I keep thinking as I read all of your posts that I'm going to come up with a big, fantastic project, but more and more I'm realizing that for me kindness is all about paying attention and being spontaneous.
This morning we met some friends for breakfast. Just about the time the hostess called us to be seated, I noticed an older man with 3 precious little girls and his hands full of sippy cups. I could tell he was leaving the restaurant and heading across the parking lot with these little ones unsecured, and fear gripped my heart. I asked him to let me carry his cups to the car while he carried the youngest (that looked to be barely walking) and joined hands with another two. He was so grateful as I helped him get his beautiful grandchildren safely into the car.
After breakfast, I went to church, where I serve my church as a Prayer Partner. Prayer Partners hang out after the service and will pray individually with anyone that askes. After sharing a prayer with one young woman, we struck up a conversation and she was telling me about her problems. She mentioned to me that she felt she needed to learn to be more open to receiving. Several years ago, I wrote a chapter for a book called "The Guide To Getting It: Abundance." The chapter I wrote was called - "The Art of Receiving." And oh, by the way, I happened to have several copies in a box in my trunk, so I asked her to walk out to the car with me and I gave her a copy. We chatted for over an hour and when she left, I think she felt really uplifted.
